Doakes diary (Dahnya)

Apologies are to be extended. The "marriage odyssey" has been transformed into a "doggy odyssey" but, this pretty much sums up Fran & I's life for the past three weeks. With the ultimate goal to have a happy, well-trained dog: we're working as a team and it's a fun, slobbery challenge.
Doakes & Fran rollin'.

This past week was a bit of a doozy. Fran started his last semester of grad school, I was preparing for a huge presentation and poor Doakes had to acclimate to life in the crate for 8 hours while his owners were at work. All that pent up energy led Doakes to reveal his rebellious (and extremely hard-headed) streak. Not to mention he took out some of his sadness at being cooped up out on dear Yoda! Don't worry, other than a slightly mauled cape (and mild asphyxiation via Lysol) good ol' Yoda is back on the mend.

Out of reach he is (I hope).

Currently, thanks to a weekend of park prancing, skate boarding and tons of cuddling...my little monster is happily zonked out. I just hope his second week of us back to work full time goes a teeny bit better. If nothing else, no more jumping on Dahnya please! Yup. Doakes is 5'4 when up on his hind legs. Putting us eyeball to eyeball. No matter what Cesar says, it's a bit unnerving.

Doggy dreams, wonder what they're made of?

  1. It was never 8 hours! At the most 6 at a time geez people are gonna think we are abusive.

  2. Doakes was such an adorable little (eh...big) puppy and we loved meeting him! I can definitely see how he's full of pent up energy when he's stuck in the house for a few hours. Hopefully your daily walks will be much nicer when the weather warms up!
