A dog called Doakes (Dahnya)

Not too long ago the Killen animal society found an American Bulldog puppy ambling the deserted streets of their industrial district. With winter's cold arms enveloping all those around her, the shelter was at full capacity. Every kennel found itself housing a lonely animal placing the fate of the 60 pound puppy in a precarious position. Luckily, he won the hearts of his rescuers and so found himself temporarily sleeping in their break room. Knowing the puppy's time was limited, his rescuers scrambled to seek a family to take him in.

Meanwhile, in Houston, the puppy's future owner found herself battling a cold and killing time on facebook. The picture depicting his sad eyes, handsome face and proud demeanor caught her eye. But when the urgency of his situation hit her, she rushed to contact her husband, Fran, to try and convince him to jump onboard for an adoption. One look at the puppy's face and Fran fell in love. From there it was a matter of attempting to locate the information necessary to bring him home.

Thanks to someone willing to go above and beyond duty, the puppy was picked up and driven down to Houston to meet his new family. When they arrived to the West U Vet office, they carefully walked in, not knowing whether or not the puppy would receive them with open paws.

But what they didn't know was that the seven month old puppy was dying to find someone to shower with love and adoration:

and they lived happily ever after.

In the sequel, his owners seek the help of experts to potty train Doakes...
